LIVING ON MISSION CAN BE DONE FROM YOUR OWN BACKYARD!

Living on Mission means...

     • Developing as Christ-followers pursuing full devotion to God

     • Reaching out to those who may be far from God

     • Offering tangible expressions of compassion into our city

and through strategic partnerships in the world

...individually, as part of a small group, and as a church.

We encourage one another to be involved in the community through volunteering with non-profit organizations and other charitable causes. Some serve individually or invite their life group and other friends to join them. New City partners with:

HOUSE OF BLESSING

House of Blessing (HOB) is a transitional residence for women in South Los Angeles. Their goal is to inspire women and single mothers to build healthy relationships with God and the local community through educational, spiritual and economic advancement.  HOB continues to thrive in their new location. We support HOB financially and our own deacon Carol DeCordova does an amazing job coordinating visits and gifts for the women.

FAMILY PROMISE

Family Promise takes a community-based approach, engaging both the local community, as well as houses of faith in the effort to combat family homelessness. Guests in our program receive a full complement of resources, support, and services as they work toward their own stability and self-reliance. In partnership with The Rock Covenant church, we help finance the food and gas needs for the families.

COMPTON CITY CHURCH/COMPTON INITIATIVE

Ken Holliday has led teams of up to ten NCC adults and kids helping paint and garden at City Church of Compton and their neighbors. Their block has been transformed! We also participate in the yearly VBS Art Camp and provide gifts to students and volunteers in their after-school program. Compton City Church has also made a huge impact in the community by starting a barbecue business that helps provide jobs and training to young people in a way that empowers them and helps build a healthy work etchic.
